Ford Mustang Chevy Camaro fight in the race to dominate the muscle car sales and Ford wants to lead this race, with fuel-efficient cars.
Ford Motor Co. icons., Mustang, revered as a model of strong racing for more than four decades, was never known as an automobile fuel economy, but in 2011 came with a machine that can travel 30 miles for every gallon on the highway, according to U.S. car manufacturers.
While the Camaro, back in production in 2009 after a seven-year absence, has a V-6 engine that can travel 29 miles for every gallon with 304 horsepower.
Ford wants to narrow the performance gap between the basic model of the Mustang and Camaro with the 2011 Mustang model and is scheduled to begin production in early 2010, will have a V-6 engine with 305 horsepower, six-speed transmission and fuel consumption 30 miles per gallon.
“When you buy a sports car, you want to feel the performance,” said Barb Samardzich, head of Ford power train engineering. “At the same time, there is no reason why you have to compromise with fuel-efficient.”
Ford “play a little catch up” with the struggle to cut the cake Mustang Camaro, said IHS Global Insight analyst Aaron Bragman.
“The Camaro took over their positions are surprising in terms of power and fuel efficiency through V-6 engine them,” Bragman said. “They’re trying to make Mustang more competitive and they have to. Because Camaro will eat a snack in terms of sales.”
After October, Mustang sales for 2009 reached 56,469 units in the United States, while the Camaro sales reached 47,233 units. Camaro sales in the U.S. started in April and have defeated the Mustang for several months.
“They want to lead the sales,” Bragman said Ford.
2011 Mustang model that will represent 25% mileage improvement from current version using the V-6 engine with a capacity of 3.7 liters of a new, six-speed automatic transmissions, better aerodynamics and other changes.
Ford is also adding features to the V-6 Mustang that has been found in the car with the more expensive versions, including the double standard exhaust and brake better. Sales V-6 is expected to reach about half of all sales of the Mustang.
Ford has found that customers prefer the smaller engines in many vehicles, such as the Fusion sedan middle class whose sales reached 80% of sales for the 2010 model-year 4-cylinder car or a hybrid drive.
Ford said it would continue to produce the Mustang V-8 version.
“I think we will see the Mustang V-8 for a very, very long,” said Samardzich.
Ford has not said how much a 2011 model Mustang, but executives say the price will remain competitive with the current version.

If more people had taken their parents’ advice about using credit cards “only for emergencies,” trillions of dollars in debt probably would have been avoided. It’s a case of “better late than never” for many people to use payday loans online, but in fact, you can take things even one step further today. If you want to totally avoid taking on more credit card debt going forward, make credit cards completely off limits – even in emergencies. Payday loans make that possible.
The Truth about Emergency Credit Spending
If you’re hanging on to credit cards for “emergencies” only, a broken down vehicle may have you pulling out your credit card. You charge a $1,200 repair fully intending to pay the balance off on your next payday loan online. Doing so will keep you free of interest charges, so there really won’t be any harm done.
The problem is, when payday comes, there’s really no reason to pay that balance off. Your minimum payment is much more affordable, another expense has come up, and you opt to push off repayment until your next payday.
This is the cycle of debt millions of people have fallen into with credit cards. It doesn’t matter whether you make a frivolous purchase on a whim or use your card to handle an “emergency.” A charge is a charge, and they’re all subject to high interest rates you’re likely to end up paying long term.
An Alternative to Long Term Interest Payments
Imagine if instead of requesting only a minimum payment that barely covers interest, your credit card company required repayment in full of your balance each month, plus a nominal fee for the “loan.” You wouldn’t have the option of letting your balance slide. You’d pay what you charged on credit off quickly, and you’d save a fortune in long-term interest payments.
This is essentially what payday loan companies offer, except they also provide much better service than most credit card companies. You can take out a payday loan to cover whatever cash emergencies arise for a minimal fee, pay it off on your next payday, and manage the crisis without accumulating one penny of long term debt.
Unlike credit card purchases or cash advances, payday loans are designed to be short term, and prompt repayment is included in your terms. You won’t be tricked into paying the loan back over a lengthy period of time, and you won’t be paying interest for months on end. Instead, you’ll manage your cash flow emergency without the need for expensive credit cards, and the entire process will be smooth and easy.
Easy Approval, Fast Cash
Unlike credit card companies that are slashing credit limits and forcing people to stop charging, payday loan companies encourage and facilitate responsible borrowing. Your credit history isn’t a consideration when you apply for a payday loan. If you have a reliable source of income that will enable you to repay your loan on time, it’s very likely you’ll qualify to borrow the amount you need to handle an emergency.
You also won’t be charged late fees, over the limit fees or annual fees with payday loans. You only pay a fee in accordance with the amount you borrow. Your repayment will be automatically deducted from your bank account, so there’s no chance it will be late. You also won’t be subject to the temptations of high credit lines that encourage over spending.
If you’d like to break free of long term debt due to consumer credit spending, consider your credit cards off limits for good. Instead, manage an emergency car repair or other crisis with a payday loan. Opt for a cash advance from a lender who specializes in making short terms loans available and affordable for responsible borrowers.
Today, the auto industry has been hit hard by the economy, putting them in a position of trying to sell more cars while making decisions to boost the bottom line. For this reason, the number of car dealerships pushing buyers to add an extended auto warranty to the factory car warranty has skyrocketed. Unfortunately, while many of the reputable dealerships are honest and loyal to consumers, many mark up the price of auto warranties, as a means of making more money.
The most common mistake made by car buyers is not looking over the auto warranty information close enough. For instance, a person might sign on the dotted line, believing the warranty is simply a standard contract. However, after driving away from the dealer’s lot in a new car, months later something goes wrong requiring repair. The car owner has a regular mechanic who performs the work. However, when the receipts and a formal claim are submitted to the dealership for reimbursement, the individual discovers that only repairs made by the dealer are covered. Therefore, the car owner now has out of pocket car repair expenses and his or her relationship with the dealership is damaged.
Additionally, some people assume that a factory or bumper-to-bumper warranty would cover everything, again, when it boils down to repairs, they find the warranty provides protection for everything excluding tires and brakes. Then, some car buyers think they are walking out of a dealership with a factory warranty, only to find the warranty is actually what is known as a power train warranty, meaning only the engine and transmission are covered. The bottom line is that people need to know what they are getting before agreeing to any auto warranty.
Auto warranties can also have stipulations easily overlooked. As an example, if a person were to add a tow hitch to the vehicle for taking the boat to the lake on the weekends, he or she might discover that this simple act voided the warranty contract. Perhaps the individual had a problem with the engine overheating but kept driving. Admitting to this in the claim, the person might have that claim denied in that it stated clearly in the warranty this would not be covered. In fact, not getting an oil change done on a set schedule according to the auto warranty could also result in a claim being rejected.
To make sure every aspect of the auto warranty is fully understood, people need to take proper time to identify everything that is and is not covered, as well as stipulations that could void a claim, schedules for regular maintenance, authorized mechanics, etc. All of this would save the individual a tremendous amount of frustration, not to mention money.
